Setting your day up for success

In case you're wondering what the heck this email is, it's our latest edition of the new Bibi Daily. One of our goals in 2020 was to start sharing our voice more authentically with you. We're not just here to prevent hangovers or reduce flushing. We want to help you live the fun, fierce, healthy, and productive life you want. In these daily emails we'll discuss four topics: Wellness, Fitness, Productivity, and Social Life. You'll see this new content on our Facebook and  Instagram pages as well. Here we go!

OWN YOUR MORNINGS Is your phone one of the first things you interact with when you wake up? Do you find yourself immediately getting caught up in text messages (sometimes while still in bed) and then diving into work emails and feeling overwhelmed or anxious a few hours later and wondering how you got there? If so, we have 3 TIPS to help you take ownership of your day and get off to a great start so you can be more productive, take care of the things that really matter, and feel satisfied with what you accomplish.

MAKE YOUR BED EVERY DAY. It seems silly and trivial right? Something your parent probably nagged you about when you were a kid. How can that make a real difference? But making your bed each morning establishes routine and gives you a quick and easy win right out the gate. Whether you are aware of it or not, that tells your brain, "Hey I'm off to a good start today."  Our minds like and need some routines and they can be very calming and relaxing so try it for a week and see how you feel!

GET OUTSIDE IN THAT FIRST HOUR. Studies have shown, getting outdoor physical activity every day, especially in the morning helps with mood regulation and can even help you get better sleep at night. Make it easy and kill two birds with one stone, it can be taking your pup for a walk, your daily run, or even walking to work (...when we start doing that again). This outdoor "me time" is especially helpful when you have those days of back-to-back meetings or full-day projects and all your energy is focused on getting things done often for others. You'll be glad you already took that time for yourself first thing.

LEAVE YOUR PHONE BEHIND. Your phone is with you more than any other device or person in your life. Think about it, it goes with you everywhere...every day...even to the bathroom! Unless you have an imaginary friend, you don't do that with anything else in your life. That's why it's important to establish boundaries with your phone and make sure you have enough "me time," as you would with any one you see that much. So go on your walk phone-less and finish your morning routine BEFORE looking at your phone. That way you won't get sucked into responding to text messages or checking social media before taking care of yourself. Don't worry, all those notifications will be there when you get back 😉

WHY MORNING ROUTINES MATTER . Even if your work day goes crummy or you have some frustrating challenges, your mornings will be YOURS. They'll be consistent, healthy, and productive. We hope these 3 TIPS help you take ownership of your day and make every morning a good one.

Cheers,
Bibi
